Alternatives to Incarceration (ATI)
The United States, with its staggering number of approximately two million incarcerated individuals, stands as a global leader in terms of its prison population. This glaring statistic underscores an urgent need for systemic reform to address and reverse the country's over reliance on incarceration. A pivotal aspects of this reform involves the adoption and expansion of effective alternatives to incarceration programs.
Advocacy
Through our grassroots policy adcocacy, we fight to promote a more humane and equitable U.S. criminal justice system. We appoint individuals who have been impacted by the criminal legal system to be lead agents, recognizing their unique insights and experiences as invaluable assets in improving meaningful change within the criminal justice landacape.
Education
In the United States, the interconnection between educational disparities and racial differences in crime and incarceration rate is a complex and multifaceted issue. Historical and systemic inequalities have resulted in significant disparities in access to quality education for minority communities, particularlly African American and Hispanic populations. These educational disparities often manifest in lower graduation rates, higher dropouts rates, and less access to advance courseworks or resources.
Empowerment
Empowerment is the HEART of ABHM. We are dedicated to supporting justice-impacted women, girls, and gender-fluid individuals on their journey to self-discovery and resilience. Our programs foster a supportive and understanding environment, designed to uplift, transform, and encourage participants to see beyond their current circumstance and realize their full potential.
Wellness/Trauma & Mental Health
The majority of women, girls and gender-fluid individuals who interface with the criminal legal system have been exposed to some form of traumatic event prior to their incarceration . This growing number of women and girls highlights the urgent need for gender-responsive, trauma informed approach to address their needs upon their reentry.

Our Mission
The mission of A Beautiful HEART Ministries (ABHM) is to improve the quality of life for formerly incarcerated women, girls, and gender-fluid individuals by focusing on a five-pronged approach: alternatives to incarceration, advocacy, education, empowerment, and wellness to facilitate change, restore healing, and reduce recidivism.
ABHM stands as a beacon of hope and transformation for justice-impacted women, girls, and gender-fluid individuals, providing them with a solid foundation as they navigate the challenging path of reenty into society.
